Join us for a special Lifelong Learning virtual event, Not Just Coins and Tokens: The Real Impact of Blockchain with Dr. Saurabh Sachdeva.

In this webinar, Dr. Sachdeva will share how blockchain has grown far beyond the world of coins and tokens and why it is becoming an essential layer of our digital and engineering systems. Although still much of the public conversation around blockchain is shaped by crypto markets, the real story lies in the technology’s ability to create trust, transparency and verifiable record keeping across many areas that influence our daily lives. Drawing from his research in decentralized energy trading, cybersecurity and digital asset infrastructure, Dr. Sachdeva will highlight how blockchain is being used to strengthen energy markets, improve supply chains, modernize financial systems and support secure data sharing. He will also reflect on how these developments connect with the mission of Valparaiso University’s College of Engineering and its commitment to people-centered innovation.

Dr. Sachdeva’s goal is to offer a clear picture of where blockchain stands today, where the technology is heading and how current students and alumni can participate in the opportunities that are rapidly emerging in this field. As with many transformative technologies, its influence appears slowly at first and then all at once, and he looks forward to exploring that path in this session!
